Proudly Ethiopian Beer

My team mate and I were given this brief and told to make it our baby for the following weeks to come. Having worked on brands throughout Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya we thought the Ethiopian market would be similar... Boy were we wrong!

 

We spent a few weeks immersing ourselves in their culture, listening to their music, learning their language, eating their food and drinking their coffee... (Which comes in a cool little clay kettle which you drink with popcorn!) The research that went into this project is something I will never forget. The brainstorming sessions were always so productive, the creative juices were definitely flowing and the end result was great!

 

Collaborating with the creative agency in Ethiopia ensured our ideas were culturally relevant and ensured a happy client. My Team mate and I received a personal commendation for the work done from the Executive Creative Director (Geoff Paton) ... and after all the effort we put in, the lessons learnt and the fun had, this was definitely a project I will never forget working on.

Unfortunately the client had to hold off on production due to budget constraints.
